Why do majority graduates and youngsters opt for PSC in Kerala? Does that have something to do with laziness to work in the private sector?
People only have 2 options to make a decent living by working in kerala – PSC and banks.
Since there aren’t enough job opportunities in the private sector in Kerala or it could also be since there is no good private companies in Kerala or it could also be since big multinational corporates don’t wish to invest in Kerala, there is a huge shortage of jobs. People try their fortune in PSC/govt jobs as it offers a secure job with decent pay. Opportunities in govt sector are highest relative to other sectors in Kerala.

So the probability of getting a job in Kerala is more in govt sector. Also, more than 70% of the population is under the reserved category so they have better odds in clearing a govt exam.
To answer your question whether is it because of laziness – I don’t think so, coz Kerala has the most efficient govt workforce in the country. It’s a dream for normal people from poor families. private sector demands someone who fluent in English and are should be work in changing environment, some times he or she may lose the job because the company always tries to maximize their profit. As you think it’s not because of laziness, it’s very easy to get a job in the private sector if you have the skills specified by them.but for getting a job in the government sector is difficult because of high competition, very vast syllabus to study.
